Novelists Katherine Hill and Elliott Holt

Katherine Hill reads from her debut novel, The Violet Hour.  She is joined by Elliott Holt, author of You Are One of Them.

Katherine Hill’s short fiction has appeared in AGNI, Colorado Review, The Common, n+1Philadelphia Stories, and Word Riot, She is the recipient of the Nelligan Prize for Short Fiction, the Marguerite McGlinn Prize for Fiction, and fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Her articles and reviews have appeared in The BelieverBookforum, The Paris Review Daily, Philadelphia City Paper, Poets & Writers, and the San Francisco Chronicle. 

Elliott Holt was born and raised in Washington, D.C., and has lived in cities all over the world. A former copywriter who worked at advertising agencies in Moscow, London, and New York, Holt attended the MFA program at Brooklyn College at night while working full time in Manhattan during the day. Her short fiction has been published in Guernica, Kenyon Review, Bellevue Literary Review and The Pushcart Prize XXXV (2011 anthology). In addition to winning a Pushcart Prize, she was the runner-up of the 2011 PEN Emerging Writers Award. You Are One of Them is her first novel.
