Poetry and Prose Reading

The Writer’s Center presents an afternoon of poetry and prose. Margaret Sessa-Hawkins, recipient of The Writer’s Center 2016 Undiscovered Voices Fellowship, is a writer, journalist and radio personality who has worked for organizations such as the PBS NewsHour and the BBC. Her work has also appeared in publications such as The Scotsman, Notre Dame magazine, and Gastronomica magazine. Novelist Keith Fentonmiller will read from Kasper Mutzenmacher’s Cursed Hat, a family drama with elements of magical realism set in the Jazz Age, the rise of Nazi Germany, and the Detroit riots of 1943. Donald Illich, president of the Federal Poets, will read from his recent chapbook, The Art of DissolvingCL Bledsoe is the author of fifteen books, most recently the poetry collections Trashcans in Love and King of Loneliness and the flash fiction collection Ray's Sea World. He lives in northern Virginia with his daughter.
