Before You Write Your Story

Days: 1 Saturday
Time: 10:00 AM-3:00 PM
Dates: 2/10/2018
Location: Bethesda
Level: All Levels
Genre(s): Mixed Genre

Workshop Leader: Solveig Eggerz
Envision your story and discover its meaning before you actually put it on the page. Using pre-writing activities, including storytelling, participants will learn to see their story from different angles. This workshop features active engagement with the elements of Story more than listening to lecture. At the close of the workshop, participants will have a strong draft, a credible character, and a sense of the story's "aboutness." Bring one or two story ideas that you would like to develop. The instructor will provide colored pencils and markers, but feel free to bring your own. Storyteller Elizabeth Ellis's book From Plot to Narrative provides a foretaste of workshop content.
