Life is beautiful. It’s also messy. In this personal essay writing workshop, writers will use the messiness of real life for inspiration. Participants will practice drawing from experiences, asking hard questions, and diving in deep to reveal their true selves through their creative work.

About Willona Sloan

Willona Sloan is a writer, editor, and literary host. She has led writing workshops and hosted literary events in the US, Canada, and Iceland. In 2019, she curated the international art project Black Coffee & Vinyl Presents: Ice Culture.

Teaching Style: As a writing workshop facilitator, Willona creates space for people to connect across cultures, using literature and creative writing. Willona connects participants to literature that addresses cultural and social issues, while also helping them to deepen and improve their writing skills. Classes include reading, discussion, and writing prompts.
