Poet Cynthia Atkins who reads from In the Event of Full Disclosure. She is joined by Nathan Leslie, author of The Tall Tale of Tommy Twice. The reading will be followed by a reception and book signing.
Cynthia Atkins’ poems have appeared in Alaska Quarterly Review, American Letters & Commentary, BOMB, Del Sol Review, Florida Review, Harpur Palate, The Journal, North American Review, Seneca Review, Sou’wester, Tampa Review, Valparaiso Review and Verse Daily, and other journals. She is author of Psyche’s Weathers and In The Event of Full Disclosure (Wordtech, 2013), Atkins’ poems were nominated for a 2011 Pushcart Prize, and her awards and honors include The New Voice Award from the Writer’s Voice, as well as residencies from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and Bread Loaf Writers' Conference.
Nathan Leslie’s most recent book is the novel The Tall Tale of Tommy Twice (Atticus Books, 2012), He has also written six collections of short fiction, including Drivers (Hamilton Stone Editions, 2000) and Reverse Negative (Ravenna Press, 2007), and a poetry collection, Night Sweat ( Hamilton Stone Editions, 2009). He is editor of two anthologies, is fiction editor for Pedestal Magazine, and was the series editor for Best of the Web. His work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and his stories have appeared in, or are forthcoming from, Boulevard, North American Review, Shenandoah, and other journals. He lives in Northern Virginia, and teaches at Northern Virginia Community College.
