Writer's Registry
Poetry Venues

The following is a list of venues in and around Washington DC which host poetry reading series, featured readers and open poetry readings, poetry slams and open microphones.

For more information regarding the type of program, scheduled events, opportunities to read, how to get on the mailing list, etc., contact the venue directly. If you find they no longer are giving readings, please let us know.

We will add to this list as we receive information from the various reading series. The Writer's Center, of course, hosts over 80 events a year, ranging from open readings through readings of plays to publication reading and readings for writers with already established audiences. Check the Events Registry for details.

(Here's a hint: If you are searching for a specific venue, city, etc. you can go to the "Edit" menu in your browser and select "Find" or "Find in Page". Type in the word you would like to search for and press "Find Next".)
