David Keplinger is the author of four books of poetry, two works in translation, and a roots music album based on the poetry of his great-great grandfather, a Civil War veteran. He has won the Colorado Book Award, the Cavafy Prize from Poetry International, the T.S. Eliot Prize, a National Endowment For the Arts Fellowship, and grants from the D.C. Council on the Arts and Humanities, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and the Danish Arts Council. He teaches in the M.F.A. Program at American University in Washington, D.C.
