Development and Community Outreach Manager

 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development and Community Outreach Manager wears several hats and has a special opportunity for creativity and public interaction. Areas of focus include management of the grant and annual giving program, membership program, and the creation and management of special events.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Manage the entire grant process: research, drafting, editing, submission and stewardship
  • Develop and manage the annual individual giving program
  • Develop and manage membership program
  • Develop and manage corporate sponsorship program
  • Develop and support volunteer program
  • Develop and manage at least two events annually that focus on community outreach

 Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of two years of experience in federal/state/local government grant writing
  • One year experience in foundation/annual giving
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines and see projects through completion
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Team-oriented working style with a willingness to share in brainstorming sessions
  • Strong writing skills
  • Good people skills
